Rita Broe MVO
Rita is Sales and Marketing Director of The Eden Project, a tourist destination and social enterprise located in Cornwall. In 15 years since opening, the Eden Project has generated £1.7 billion directly for the local economy, with 18 million visitors to the destination.
She is Executive Producer of the Eden Sessions, an annual concert series held within the backdrop of the famous biomes, which enter their fifteenth year in 2016. Last year the line up included Elton John, Paolo Nutini, Paloma Faith, Motorhead and Ben Howard. 2016 headliners are Lionel Richie, Tom Jones, PJ Harvey, the Manic Street Preachers and Jess Glynne. Eden has hosted Live8 and many other large scale music events.
Eden is involved in many national and global charitable initiatives, Including The Big Lunch. Eden now also offers university-level degrees taught on site, including Event management and Contemporary storytelling and performance.
Rita has a long history with the BRIT Awards. As VIP, Marketing for MasterCard she signed the first BRITs sponsorship deal, and for many years worked with the BRITs team on that very strong partnership. She launched the Priceless campaign in the UK and ran many Priceless music gigs during her years at MasterCard.
Rita is Irish and a psychology graduate of Trinity College Dublin. She was awarded an MVO in 2012 for her work with Eden and The Big Lunch on HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
